What happens when you add Pardot users to a test list?

When you add Pardot users to a test list, they are indeed created as prospects in Pardot. A test list is used primarily during testing processes, and by adding users to this list, Pardot recognizes them as prospects, which means they will have the same data handling as any other prospect in the system. This allows you to analyze how these users interact with content, emails, and other marketing materials without affecting your actual prospects or campaigns.

In contrast, simply adding users to a test list does not manage their subscription status or their role within the platform. They do not automatically get permission to receive all communications or get unsubscribed from emails based on their addition to a test list. Additionally, while user roles can be assigned in Pardot, merely adding users to a test list does not change their existing roles, like assigning a Test User role.
